Ruilin has gained extensive clinical experience in hospital settings, where she worked with both adolescents and adults. She has supported many individuals through periods of depression, anxiety, trauma, and uncertainty during different life transitions, and also has experience providing crisis support and conducting risk assessments.

In addition to her clinical work, Ruilin brings nearly two years of research experience focused on supporting communities affected by systemic inequities. She has also published academic work in this area. These experiences have shaped her understanding that many forms of distress are closely connected to the environments and systems people live within. This perspective allows her to approach each person’s story with a broader lens, and with deep care and compassion.

During counselling, Ruilin strives to create a warm and welcoming space where people can feel safe to be themselves. She tailors her approach to each individual, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). With openness and deep respect for each person’s unique background and lived experiences, Ruilin listens closely to the stories people carry. Together, Ruilin invites clients to gently explore thoughts and emotions, making sense of what feels overwhelming, and discovering new clarity, strength, and direction for the path ahead.
