Karen’s Bio
Karen has experience in education settings and community support, including supporting individuals and children with developmental disabilities and volunteering as a mental health listener. These experiences have shaped her interest in understanding clients within the context of their relationships, families, and communities.
Karen is interested in supporting adolescents, adults, and couples navigating emotional distress, relationship and family challenges, and communication difficulties. Having lived in both Mandarin-speaking and Canadian cultural environments, she is also attentive to experiences related to immigration and cultural identities. In her work, she pays close attention to attachment needs and the recurring patterns that can shape relationships.
Karen strives to create a warm and collaborative counselling environment where clients feel heard and understood. She values empathy, clear communication, and respect for each client’s agency and lived experiences, supporting them in working toward meaningful change.
