Rachel’s Bio

Rachel is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) student completing her clinical training under supervision. She works with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, stress, relationships, family dynamics, identity, life transitions, and personal growth. She also provides strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming support for autistic adolescents experiencing challenges related to emotional regulation, social relationships, self-understanding, school stress, and family relationships.

Rachel offers a warm, respectful, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed therapeutic space where clients can feel heard, understood, and supported. Drawing from Person-Centred Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Psychodynamic Therapy, she integrates these approaches based on each client’s unique needs, goals, and pace.

As a first-generation immigrant and a mother of two second-generation children, Rachel brings a personal understanding of cross-cultural adjustment, identity, family relationships, and intergenerational experiences. She has worked in educational psychology and cross-cultural settings in both China and Canada, and has also been involved in crisis intervention and psychological support settings, including co-facilitating therapeutic groups. These experiences have shaped her particular interest in supporting immigrant families, adolescents, parent-child relationships, and individuals navigating emotional challenges during periods of growth and life transition.

Rachel believes that therapy is not simply about addressing problems in the moment, but also about developing a deeper understanding of oneself and reconnecting with one’s inner strengths. Through a collaborative, genuine, and compassionate approach, she supports clients in exploring emotional and relational patterns, developing greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience, and finding greater clarity and direction while feeling understood and accepted.
