For court orders, legal proceedings and lawyer referrals
Court-Ordered Counselling & Programs
When mental health care meets the legal system, we offer professional, respectful and confidential support. Whether counselling has been ordered by a court, recommended by your lawyer, or is something you are seeking on your own, LingYu can provide the counselling, assessments and programs you need.
Our services cover DUI (impaired driving), assault, intimate partner violence and PAR-style programs, drug-related matters, and court-involved youth.
Services are provided by Ontario Registered Social Workers (RSW) and Registered Psychotherapists (RP), in Mandarin, Cantonese or English, in person or online.
Registered Social Workers (RSW): $160 per hour. Registered Psychotherapists (RP): $210 per hour.
To book or make a referral, call (647) 728-2955 or email info@lingyupsyc.com. We start with an initial assessment, and can tell you in advance roughly what the fees and the time commitment will be.
After hours: call our AI assistant at (778) 764-2808. It answers simple questions and takes your details, and our front desk will follow up.
Not for emergencies. In a crisis, call 911 or 9-8-8.
Counselling programs we offer
DUI Counselling
For clients facing an impaired-driving charge or its consequences. We help you understand your patterns of substance use, recognize risk factors and triggers, prevent relapse, and build a practical plan to keep it from happening again.
Usually 5 hours
Assault Counselling
For clients involved in an incident of assault. We work on managing emotions and anger, recognizing triggers and conflict patterns, communication and de-escalation skills, and taking responsibility for changing behaviour.
Usually 8–12 hours
PAR-Style Counselling (Intimate Partner Violence)
For clients involved in an incident of intimate partner violence. The content follows the PAR program: taking responsibility, healthy relationship skills, and resolving conflict without violence. Please note that this is counselling based on PAR content, not the government-funded PAR program in Ontario.
Usually 8–12 hours
Drug-Related Counselling
For clients facing drug-related charges or difficulties. We look at patterns of substance use, identify triggers, build coping and relapse-prevention skills, and plan for lasting change.
Length depends on the individual
Court-Involved Youth Counselling
For young people involved in the criminal justice system, with family participation when appropriate. We work on emotion regulation, decision-making, taking responsibility, and healthy communication with family and peers.
Length depends on the individual
Except for DUI counselling, the length of each program is set after an assessment, based on your circumstances and needs.
