MVA
Our psychologists and psychotherapists understand the challenges survivors face after a motor vehicle accident (MVA). We assess the psychological impact of the accident and the trauma that follows, and help clients adjust to life changes, manage somatic pain, and recover from mood difficulties including travel anxiety, depression and PTSD.

Helpful things to know about MVA at LingYu
Who is MVA therapy for?
MVA therapy is for people who are dealing with the psychological effects of a motor vehicle accident, such as travel anxiety, low mood, pain linked to stress, or symptoms of trauma. If you are not sure whether it applies to you, call us and we will help you think it through.
Do I have to pay?
No. There is no cost to you as an MVA client. Your insurance company pays for the assessment and the treatment.
What do I need before I can start?
Please call us first, and ask your lawyer to send us your information. Both the assessment and the treatment need your insurance company's approval before we can begin.
What happens when I start?
Once your insurance company has approved the assessment, you complete it with your therapist. It usually takes about 2 hours. It helps your therapist understand the psychological impact of the accident, and helps you understand the terms of our service before you sign the service contract and consent form. Treatment begins after your insurance company approves it.
How do I choose a therapist, and can I have sessions in Mandarin or Cantonese?
You can browse our team page and filter by language and areas of focus. Many of our therapists offer sessions in Mandarin or Cantonese as well as English. If you would rather not choose on your own, tell us what you are looking for and our front desk will help match you with a therapist.
