Psychological counselling education and training background

With more than 35 years of experience in psychological counselling, she has served as a social worker for the Taipei City Government, the supervisor of the Youth Counseling Group of the Taipei City Government, the director of the Children’s Center of the Navigation Foundation, the director of the Chinese Creativity Center and the executive secretary of the Infant Development Association. After immigrating to Canada, with a complete academic experience and sensitivity to social and cultural differences, she served as a long-term counsellor at the Toronto Southeast Asian Community Service Center (former Xiequn), Eastview Neighbourhood Community Center and Chinese Family Professional Counseling Center (former Jiahe). She provided family and personal counselling services for about 24 years. Over the years, she has received special interviews from radio, television, and newspapers from time to time, and was invited to various schools, churches, and community organizations to give lectures on mental health-related issues.

Work background and profession

Based on the belief that everyone has the right and ability to improve their quality of life, Luisa uses cognitive behaviour, narrative, focus problem solving, psychological motivation, communication analysis and mindfulness and other related theories to provide customer-centric overall treatment services. Cases include anxiety disorder, sequelae of trauma, couple relationship, parent-child relationship, children’s emotional and behavioural disturbances, etc. In addition to training volunteer workgroups with different functions, the parent education group she designed and led is wildly popular among parents.
